School Staff Stress and Wellness: Understanding Sources and Variations of Work-Related Stress

July 21, 2021 – 11:00AM to 11:20AM

The presenters will invite the audience to explore sources and variations of work-related stress experienced by school staff and teachers, through a set of preliminary results from the school staff/teacher survey conducted across the school districts in the fall of 2018. The presenters will share the current study (Latent Class Analysis) that addresses questions including:

  1. What are the sources of stress experienced by school staff/teachers?
  2. What are some of the characteristics and variations of these stress sources?

Highlighting the importance of both student and adult social-emotional learning, we suggest school leadership and key supporters to further strengthen schools’ professional development frameworks that incorporate adult SEL as a way to promote positive school climate and to support well-being and professional growth of school staff and teachers.
